Essential Job Duties:
- Deliver hands-on, industry-aligned welding instruction that prepares students for real-world careers
- Design and implement structured lessons while adapting to diverse learning styles
- Track, evaluate, and document student progress, skill attainment, and attendance
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and accountability to help students develop both technical skills and professional behaviors
- Reinforce workplace expectations by teaching employability skills such as communication, reliability, and teamwork
- Maintain a safe, compliant training environment by enforcing safety standards, proper equipment use, and PPE protocols
- Serve as a positive role model - promoting structure, consistency, and a culture of respect
Mandatory:
- A high School diploma or equivalent. Higher level education and training is preferred
- 5 or more years’ of welding experience and one year teaching/training experience. Previous Job Corps experience in an academic/instruction capacity is preferred
- A State of MS teaching credential or industry recognized certification
- The ability to motivate and mentor young people
- A desire to make a difference in your community
- A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- The ability to successfully pass background check and drug test
