This position is based in Kunia & Wahiawa, HI.
Job Overview
Performs maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment and systems for generation, distribution, and point of use for a 24/7 critical facility. Work involves installation, maintaining, repairing, and testing of generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, and a variety of low voltage systems (<600V) such as UPSs, VFDs, and PDUs. Work is accomplished from schedules and work orders and may include drawings, sketches, plans and specifications. Diagnostics may be required to locate problems along with standard calculations relating to load requirements and wiring sizes. Use is made of standard electrician's tools and equipment including that for test and measurement.

Essential Job Duties:
Mandatory:
Five (5) years of experience maintaining and repairing electrical and power systems (Trades license equal to or greater than a Journeyman’s in the electrical field Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair a variety of electrical equipment Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and work on steep and uneven ground. Ability to obtain and maintain the required intelligence community level clearance Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract Valid state driver’s license U. S. Citizenship

Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties:
- Skills and knowledge related to the construction, maintenance, and operation of the electricalequipment and installations.
- Performs a variety of electrical trade functions, such as the installation, maintenance, or repair ofequipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electrical energy (600 Volts or less).
- Installs or repairs any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers,switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, controls, PDUs, UPSs, MCCs, and VFDs.
- Locates and diagnoses trouble in electrical systems or equipment.
- Work involves planning and layout of work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions.
- Works standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
- Assists other crafts and trades personnel in their daily operations.
- Inspects work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, policies, and regulations.
- Supports the project Safety Plan through personal involvement in all aspects of safety, includingtraining and attention to the adherence to safety requirements pertaining to particular trades or skills.
- Proper use of the special precautionary techniques, PPE, including arc flash, insulating and shieldingmaterials, and insulated tools and test equipment
- Assists the Chief Engineer and Facilities Control Center with planning, work activities, and outages.
- Works overtime as needed to meet mission critical needs.
- Performs other tasks as directed by supervisor.
- Strict adherence to all safety and health practices especially PPE, LOTO, and arc flash
- Timely cost effective performance of duties
- Responsible for company issued equipment and tools necessary to perform duties
- Communicating effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ensuring proper housekeeping practices for all activities
- Working closely and harmoniously with fellow workers
- Properly operating company and customer owned equipment and vehicles
Mandatory:
Five (5) years of experience maintaining and repairing electrical and power systems (
- Ten plus (10 ) years or more of experience working on electrical systems
- Working knowledge of solid-state and conventional control circuitry
- Current intelligence community level clearance
- OEM certifications for specialized equipment such as PDUs, VFDs, MCCs, or UPSs
- Experience working on a Government contract
- Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and work on steep and uneven ground.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
