We are seeking an experienced Licensed Master Plumber to lead our commercial plumbing division and serve as the company's Responsible Master Plumber.
Position Summary
The Licensed Master Plumber will oversee all commercial plumbing operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable Texas plumbing codes and local regulations. This leadership position requires extensive experience in commercial construction, project management, estimating, and team supervision.
Essential Responsibilities
- Serve as the Responsible Master Plumber for the company and maintain all required state licensing.
- Supervise, train, and mentor licensed plumbers, apprentices, and subcontractors.
- Manage commercial plumbing projects from pre-construction through project completion.
- Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, general contractors, inspectors, and customers.
- Install, repair, and maintain commercial plumbing systems, including:
- Domestic water systems
- Sanitary waste and vent systems
- Storm drainage systems
- Natural gas piping
- Water heaters and commercial fixtures
- HVAC-related piping and condensate systems
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and plumbing plans to ensure accurate installation.
- Perform material takeoffs, prepare cost estimates, and assist with project budgeting.
- Ensure all work complies with Texas State Plumbing Code, local jurisdictions, OSHA regulations, and company safety standards.
- Schedule inspections and ensure successful completion of required testing and inspections.
- Troubleshoot complex plumbing issues and provide technical guidance to field personnel.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, permits, inspection reports, and daily job records.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, inspectors, and project teams.
Qualifications
- Current Texas Master Plumber License in good standing.
- Ability to serve as the company's Responsible Master Plumber.
- Minimum of 7 years of commercial plumbing experience, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong background in commercial construction and remodel projects.
- Thorough knowledge of:
- Texas plumbing codes
- Commercial plumbing systems
- Building codes
- OSHA safety requirements
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
- Experience estimating commercial plumbing projects, including labor and material takeoffs.
- Knowledge of underground rough-in, above-ground rough, finish-out, and equipment installation.
- Familiarity with HVAC mechanical systems and related plumbing connections.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in varying weather conditions and active construction environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in K-12 schools, municipal, healthcare, retail, or office construction.
- Experience with Procore or similar construction management software.
- OSHA 30 Certification (preferred).
- Experience managing multiple commercial projects simultaneously.
