What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineer position at Chromaglass?
Chromaglass melts and molds glass for commercial, industrial, and military uses. We are seeking an individual who is, who wants to be, or who can learn to be a hands-on, jack-of-all-trades employee; the successful candidate will have an opportunity to acquire a significant equity stake in the company.
This employee would support glass manufacturing personnel to assure all equipment and materials required to manufacture industrial glass products are available and in good working condition.
The interested candidate must have a technical education or background, with no specific specialty. Any of the knowledge and skills listed below that are lacking when hired would be learned while working.
Knowledge and skills used in this position (in no particular order or importance):
mechanical, combustion, heat transfer, glass properties, glass chemistry, refractories and ceramics, electrical, controls, blueprint reading, computer design, metallurgy.
Chromaglass was established in 2001, with a product list of several hundred glass parts, made by skilled workers who hand-mold the parts with a unique blend of craftsmanship and science, artistry and engineering.
