Departmental Objective

Purpose of the Position
This position is responsible for cash and card sales in the Café. Responsible for actual hands-on preparation of menu items to include but not limited to baked goods, brunch items, sandwiches, salads, coffees, and other beverages. Responsible for closing the facility and clean-up. Ensuring high quality food and beverage with emphasis on exemplary customer service. This position is also responsible for supervising student employees in the absence of the manager. With prior notice, it may assist and/or independently run concessions events to include, but not limited to: football, baseball, softball, lacrosse, volleyball, basketball, track, Commencement, non-CNU athletic rentals, and other events as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Related to Position
- Understanding of food service, customer service skills, employee supervision and training, order taking, serving, and safety
- Ability to maintain professional appearance
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to properly handle all forms of payments
- Must be able to work posted Café hours and be available to assist with any special events require the Café to be open.
- This includes but is not limited to normal hours of operations, evening, or weekend events and overnight during our 24/7 periods before and during exam week.
Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent education and experience that equates to a high school diploma
Experience:
- Experience in the food service industry
- Supervisory experience
- Cash handling experience

- Café, sandwich and salad making experience
