Christian Student Fellowship is seeking an outgoing individual for this full-time position to join our ministry director and philanthropy team in fundraising efforts for the ministry. The Philanthropy Team Director will lead the philanthropy team and is responsible for planning and implementing a process of discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship for individual gift prospects and the overall philanthropy program.
Primary responsibilities and relationships with other people in the organization are outlined below.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the philanthropy team's efforts to set goals and develop a written annual plan for the cultivation and solicitation of gifts. Progress on this plan will be overseen by and reported to the ministry director.
- Oversee, coach, and collaborate with a team of four other philanthropy team members to achieve organizational philanthropic goals, including annual giving, major giving, planned giving, stewardship, donor relations, prospect research, events, development marketing, and other duties related to CSF philanthropic efforts.
- Be responsible for the construction of the team's prospect portfolios. This includes mining CSF’s database to identify new giving prospects, as well as uncovering new potential donors outside of the current CSF donor network.
- Utilize basic research tools to help confirm key points of consideration in developing relationships with current and prospective donors. Such research items include assessing historical giving trends to CSF, potential financial capability, special interests of the donor, historical and current connections with CSF, affinity for the University of Kentucky, relational network of the donor, and financial contributions to other causes.
- Carry out personal assignments to identify, cultivate, and solicit major gift prospects, working with other staff, the director, and CSF board members to accomplish goals.
- Develop and carry out appropriate recognition, involvement, and stewardship of donors.
