• Design and implement comprehensive history curricula aligned with educational standards and Christian values, incorporating innovative instructional strategies and learning technology.
• Develop lesson plans that incorporate various teaching methods, including creative writing, research projects, and multimedia resources to enhance student engagement.
• Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing, essays, presentations, and class discussions.
• Provide mentorship and academic advising to students, supporting their spiritual development and personal growth within a faith-based context.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management techniques, creating a respectful and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, school events, and extracurricular activities such as journalism clubs or history competitions.
• Incorporate proofreading, copy editing, and adherence to AP style or Chicago Manual of Style standards in student assignments and classroom materials when appropriate. Experience
• Prior classroom experience in a high school setting is required, preferably within private or Christian schools.
• Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development across history or social studies disciplines with a focus on instructional design.
• Strong knowledge of literacy education, standardized testing preparation, and assessment strategies to support diverse learners including those in special education or Montessori environments.
• Experience mentoring students through tutoring or academic advising roles that foster both academic achievement and character development.
• Familiarity with learning technology tools such as digital platforms for lesson planning, library services integration, or online instruction is highly desirable.
• Background in higher education teaching or research in history, linguistics, or related fields enhances your ability to deliver rich content with clarity and precision.
• Proven organizational skills necessary for managing multiple classes, lesson planning cycles, and educational administration tasks effectively.
