Duties

- Deliver engaging lessons utilizing instructional design techniques, learning technology tools, and classroom management strategies to foster an inclusive and motivating learning environment.
- Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and project-based evaluations; provide constructive feedback to support individual growth.
- Mentor students by offering academic advising, behavioral guidance, and personalized tutoring to enhance their confidence and skills in reading, writing, and communication.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, instructional strategies, and school events; participate in faculty meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral observations; prepare reports for parents and school administration.
- Uphold the school's mission by integrating biblical teachings into daily lessons, promoting character development, and fostering a respectful classroom atmosphere.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience in a private or Christian school setting is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in teaching English language arts, including curriculum development, lesson planning, proofreading, copy editing, and research methods.
- Strong knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style and AP style guides; experience with instructional design and standardized testing is advantageous.
- Familiarity with learning technology platforms, library services, special education accommodations, Montessori or other educational philosophies is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while working with diverse student populations; experience in mentoring or higher education teaching enhances your candidacy.
- Excellent communication skills paired with organizational skills to coordinate lesson plans, academic advising sessions, and extracurricular activities.
