What are the responsibilities and job description for the Christian - High School Math Teacher position at Christian Liberty Academy?
High School Math Teacher (Full-Time Position)
Christian Liberty Academy is a small preK-12 Christian school in an economically depressed area; our burden is to provide a quality education that incorporates an explicitly Christian worldview into every area of life, while remaining affordable to the families we serve. We are currently seeking a dedicated, full-time high school math teacher to join our faculty.
Responsibilities:
- Teach four high school math classes—Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and Quantitative Reasoning; class sizes range from 10 to 20 students. (Due to our school's size, we have only one section of each class.)
- Develop creative and engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and a biblical worldview.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages students' intellectual and spiritual growth.
- Work with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to support student success.
Qualifications: a candidate must . . .
- Be a committed believer and active member of a local church.
- Have a Bachelor's Degree.
- Have a firm grasp on high school mathematics.
- Have the ability and desire to communicate mathematics to a diverse group of students.
Base salary: In order to keep tuition affordable in our community, our salaries are significantly lower than in the public sector; our teachers are among those who have embraced the call to sacrificial service for the kingdom of God. Our starting salary (for bachelor's degree with no experience) is roughly $27,000; salary increases with experience and additional degrees/expertise. Full health insurance (including dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage) provided.
Again, candidates should view this position as a sacrificial ministry, serving students with few if any other Christian educational options. If you are passionate about teaching mathematics within a Christian worldview, we would love to hear from you.
