Life Enrichment Assistant

Status: The Life Enrichment Assistant receives direct supervision from the Director of Pine Ridge. The Life Enrichment Assistant provides direct supervision to volunteers directly assisting the Life Enrichment Assistant.

Essential Job Functions:

The Life Enrichment Assistant is responsible for the implementation of recreation programs for the residents at Pine Ridge and Pine Ridge Gardens Memory Care Unit, in order to meet the social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual needs of all residents.

Specific Job Duties:

• Implement recreation programs assigned to lead.
• Coordinate with other departments when needed to implement program.
• Plan programs to include variety, creativity, and adaptations needed to meet needs of all residents in attendance.
• Visit with residents to establish rapport and trust.
• Visit with residents to meet leisure needs on a 1:1 basis when needed.
• Plan 1:1 visits to include variety and creativity.
• Encourage resident involvement in scheduled activity programs.
• Ascertain and develop the areas and amount of space needed to implement recreation programs.
• Arrange the physical set-up for each activity; including equipment needs and room arrangement.
• Maintain the good condition of the program area; including clean up after programs and requesting any needed repairs to maintain a safe and functional environment.
• Arrange for or personally transport residents to activity locations.
• Inform Director of concerns regarding resident activity involvement as they arise.
• Keep informed of resident status and changes.
• Keep inventory of activity supplies and inform Director of needed equipment/supplies.
• Supervise volunteers that assist with activity programs.
• Facilitate harmonious interpersonal relationships with ancillary departments.
• Assist residents with simple personal care tasks; such as toileting, dressing, preparing food, assisting to eat, transferring; when CNA/RSA staff unavailable.
• Attend and participate in facility meetings as assigned.
• Attend required facility inservices.
• Work scheduled hours complying with facility attendance policies.
• Follow facility dress code requirements.
• Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate by management.

The Life Enrichment Assistant can take pictures of resident activities on their personal phone. These pictures are for the sole purpose of CCH marketing and social media and should not be shared with anyone outside of CCH or on personal social media accounts.

Pay: $17.50-$23.50 per hour, depending on years of experience.
