ABOUT THE ROLE
The Media Production Specialist is a ministry partner, video shepherd, and worship leader behind the scenes. Just as a director frames a powerful scene, this role helps frame the experience of worship through visual excellence. By offering leadership, creativity, and humility, the Media Production Specialist ensures that God receives the glory through a consistent visual experience that draws attention to the message—not the medium.
This contract, part-time, on-site position provides hands-on support and oversight for all in-service video production, presentations, and livestreaming at Christ the King Baptist Church. The role leads and equips a volunteer video team, ensuring high-quality video capture and livestream broadcasts of Sunday worship, special services, funerals, and other church events.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee or personally operate cameras, switchers, and streaming systems for Sunday morning services and other scheduled services/events.
- Prepare/operate ProPresenter during services & events
- Create/update weekly worship slides
- Ensure engaging video production and smooth livestream broadcasts.
- Recruit, train, and schedule volunteer camera operators and video team members.
- Provide coaching to build skill, confidence, and consistency among volunteers.
- Ensure volunteer coverage for all required services/events, stepping in as needed.
- Provide video support for funerals, evening services, and special events (coverage arranged if unavailable).
- Perform routine checks, cleaning, and minor troubleshooting on all video equipment.
- Set up and test video systems before services.
- Maintain organization and safety of video booth and equipment storage areas.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (required).
- Associate’s degree or certification in Video, A/V, or Media Production (preferred).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in A/V or media production required (church environment preferred).
- Proficiency in camera operation, livestreaming platforms, video switchers, and ProPresenter.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills to train and support volunteers.
- Strong communication and computer skills with a heart for Christian ministry and values.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues calmly under pressure.
SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION
- Part-Time, On-Site (10-15 hours/wk - Sundays, 1-2 wkday hrs, plus special events, activities and training as needed).
- Compensation commensurate with experience.
