Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging curriculum plans tailored to preschool and toddler age groups, incorporating oral language development, literacy, math, science, music and movement.
- Create a warm, welcoming classroom environment that promotes positive behavior management and supports children’s social-emotional well-being.
- Provide attentive toddler care by supervising daily activities, ensuring safety, and supporting routines such as potty training, diapering, assistance with feeding and nap times.
- Utilize classroom management techniques to maintain an organized learning space conducive to exploration and learning.
- Maintain accurate documentation of children's progress, concerns, and support each child's individual needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, early intervention strategies, special education accommodations, and inclusive teaching practices.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, early childhood education standards, and childcare best practices.
Qualifications
- Prior classroom experience working with children in preschool or toddler settings is essential; familiarity with toddler care is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management strategies, and early intervention techniques.
- Familiarity with curriculum development, and classroom management practices.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, collaborate with parents, colleagues, and the community.
- Current Certification in First Aid & CPR (pediatrics)
- Current Mandated Reporter Training Certificate
- Certification or training in early childhood education or related field is preferred. Ongoing professional development is encouraged.
