From thoughtful books and artisan gifts to inspirational cards and seasonal treasures, the shop serves as a place where faith and fellowship meet. All proceeds from the GoodNews Shop support the Outreach missions of Christ Church Charlotte, extending love and care to our community and beyond.
We’re seeking a Sales Associate to assist the Manager in keeping the store welcoming, organized, and mission driven.
What You’ll Do
Your role will include:
- Creating a warm, engaging experience for customers and church members
- Supporting daily shop operations and special seasonal events (especially Christmas)
- Recruiting, scheduling, and encouraging volunteers
- Assisting with merchandising, inventory, and product displays
- Managing and updating social media to promote the shop’s mission
- Working with vendors, tracking orders, and helping maintain POS records
- Communicating with staff and supporting shop-related communications

What You Bring
- 3 years of retail or customer-facing experience
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, people-centered environment
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience with POS systems and basic Microsoft Office tools
- Interest in or familiarity with church environments is a plus
Schedule & Details
- Part-time (23 hours/week)
- Hours to be scheduled with GoodNews Shop Manager during regular operating hours, Monday–Thursday 9 am to 4 pm and Sunday 9 am to 2 pm.
- Occasional special events (especially during the holidays)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
