Position Summary
The Cabinet Builder at Chris’s Custom Cabinets is responsible for building high-quality custom cabinetry with precision, efficiency, and pride in craftsmanship. This role requires the ability to read shop drawings, assemble cabinets accurately, and meet production schedules while maintaining our standards of excellence. Cabinet Builders play a critical role in delivering a finished product that reflects our commitment to quality, integrity, and customer satisfaction.
Core ResponsibilitiesCabinet Construction & Assembly
- Assemble custom cabinets according to approved shop drawings and specifications
- Build face-frame, frameless, and specialty cabinetry as required by job design
- Install hardware, drawer systems, hinges, and accessories accurately
- Ensure proper fit, square, alignment, and structural integrity of all assemblies
- Construct custom cabinets from raw materials using hand tools, power tools, and CNC machinery
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication
- Measure, cut, assemble, and finish cabinetry components with precision
- Collaborate with project teams to meet deadlines and quality expectations
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to promote safety and efficiency
Quality & Craftsmanship
- Maintain high craftsmanship standards on every build, regardless of job size
- Inspect work for defects, inaccuracies, or damage prior to moving to next phase
- Correct issues proactively to prevent rework downstream
- Protect finished surfaces during handling and staging
Production & Efficiency
- Meet daily and weekly production targets while maintaining quality standards
- Accurately track time and materials per job or production traveler
- Communicate material shortages, drawing issues, or delays immediately
- Work efficiently without sacrificing accuracy or finish quality
Shop Safety & Organization
- Follow all shop safety policies and procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Properly use and care for tools, equipment, and machinery
- Assist with general shop organization as needed
Team & Culture
- Work collaboratively with CNC operators, finishers, and installers
- Accept coaching and feedback with a growth mindset
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and accountable shop culture
- Represent Chris’s Custom Cabinets with professionalism at all times
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience building custom cabinets or fine woodworking
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and cut lists
- Strong understanding of cabinet construction methods and materials
- Proficient with common shop tools and equipment
- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a production cabinet shop environment
- Familiarity with CNC-produced parts and assembly workflows
- Experience with both face-frame and frameless cabinetry
- Knowledge of Blum or similar hardware systems
Success in this role is measured by:

Work Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time, Monday–Friday
- Occasional overtime as production demands require
