This is a fast-paced, team-oriented position that requires reliability, attention to detail, and a sense of pride in your work.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment efficiently and thoroughly.
- Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing area, kitchen floors, trash receptacles, and related areas.
- Properly handle and store cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Support kitchen staff by returning clean wares and equipment promptly to their stations.
- Assist with polishing glassware when needed.
- Follow all sanitation and safety protocols to ensure compliance with health standards.
- Communicate with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods (up to 8 hours per shift).
- Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and carrying of up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in hot, humid, or wet environments, as well as refrigerated spaces.
- Must be able to use dishwashing machines, sinks, and cleaning tools safely and effectively.
- Requires repetitive hand and arm movements for scrubbing, lifting, and handling dishware.
- Previous experience as a dishwasher, steward, or porter in a high-volume restaurant or hotel is a plus.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
