We are seeking an MX Operator to be responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the Carbon Max 5 machine including but not limited to setting up and operating the multi-axial machine. This operator performs all tasks involved in the production of first quality Multi-Axial products by following prescribed work methods and safe work habits, ensuring the production process is efficient and meets quality expectations.

Responsibilities:
- Observe safety and security procedures by constantly inspecting area for hazards, correcting and resolving safety issues within their control, reporting unsafe conditions, using equipment and materials properly and actively participating in safety initiatives.
- Make machine adjustments within allowances to ensure production of quality material.
- Notify PCT or Supervisor of machine malfunctions immediately and make timely notifications to PCT or Supervisor when excessive or repeating quality issues occur.
- Assist style change hardware adjustments as necessary.
- Accurately complete production documentation.
- Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Show initiative to meet goals by offering and asking for help when needed.
- Complete work in timely manner. Strive to increase productivity by working quickly and effectively, ensuring safety and quality expectations are met.
- Assemble packaging and properly palletize finished material.
- Follow both spoken and written instructions and respond appropriately to management direction.
- Constantly observe fabric to detect defects and take corrective actions to resolve.
- Assist in performing routine maintenance duties such as setting selvage cutters, changing cutter blades and other activities as instructed.
Work Requirements:
- Must work assigned shift as scheduled by production needs. Employees are normally assigned a “regular” shift; however, all employees may occasionally need to work overtime or other shifts or days as necessary due to business need.
- Must follow instruction and respond to management direction.
- Must read and interpret written information to include specification sheets, quality requirements, and accurately record production information.
Must be capable of:
- Constant standing, walking and climbing.
- Climbing or working from ladders, scaffolds, elevated platforms and heights up to 12 feet above floor level.
- Requires regular lifting of items weighing approximately 25 lbs. Will lift in excess of 25 lbs at times.
- Must be able to lift or remove weight from positions approximately 4-5 feet from standing position on floor or platform. Occasionally lifting in excess of 100 lbs. with lift assistance.
- Spending extended periods in awkward, cramped work conditions setting up/servicing machine.
- Pushing or pulling loads in excess of 100 lbs., when positioning/transporting material on doff trucks and/or floor lifts.
- Fine finger movement and visual acuity to handle and work with fibers and other textile materials.
Authorities:
- Operate manufacturing equipment according to product specifications
- Make quality and productivity decisions within set parameters
- Shut the production line down whenever issues arise that are outside of control parameters and report
- Make machine adjustments to maintain operating specifications
- Create nonconforming material record
- Provide breakdown maintenance support
- Operate lift truck
Knowledge, Background, Skills:
- Prefer high school diploma or GED.
- Prefer demonstrated experience in industrial setting with an understanding of manufacturing principles, processes and machinery.
- Must be able to pass forklift certification test.
- Ability to make decisions based on sound logic and proper resourcing of information.
- Must have effective communication skills.
- Must be self-motivated.
