Front Desk Coordinator
Pay: $22-$25 per hour

Our board-certified team provides trusted, comprehensive care at our state-of-the-art Jamaica, Queens location. We are seeking a versatile Full-time Front Desk Coordinator to ensure a smooth patient registration experience while supporting insurance verification and patient enrollment programs
Job Summary:
This role combines front desk responsibilities with insurance and financial support. You will serve as the first point of contact for patients, verify insurance, assist uninsured patients with eligibility and enrollment, and help maintain an organized and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate is team-oriented, dependable, and flexible, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients, complete registration and manage scheduling while maintaining a professional and welcoming front desk environment.
- Verify insurance coverage, assist with eligibility determinations, and help patients apply for insurance through the NY State of Health Marketplace and family planning programs.
- Collect and process co-payments, outstanding balances, refunds, and reconcile daily cash, credit, and OMNY transactions.
- Scan and enter patient documents to maintain accurate records.
- Assist uninsured patients in accessing financial assistance/funding programs.
- Monitor patient wait times and promptly address or escalate any concerns to management.
- Promote excellent customer service among all Front Desk staff.
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant reception areas and ensure confidentiality of patient information.
- Assist in staff training and prepare reports or statistics as requested.
- Serve as a backup for the Financial Coordinator and perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
- 2–3 years of experience in front desk reception within a healthcare setting, including insurance verification and patient registration, required
- Experience with EMR systems, preferably eCW
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience verifying with major insurance portals, such as EPACES, UHC, Emblem, MetroPlus, Fidelis, HealthFirst, Aetna, GHI, is required
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) a plus
