What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Support Professional (Barre) position at Choice Support Services?
We’re looking for at least 2 motivated individuals to join our team. As a Community Support Professional, you’ll work with adults who have sustained a brain injury—helping them live as independently and fully as possible.
What You’ll Do:
- Support individuals with daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, and meal preparation
- Provide transportation to community activities, errands, and medical appointments
- Assist with day-to-day activities and routines within both group homes, private homes, and apartment settings
- Encourage skill-building, communication, and community involvement
- Complete daily documentation and collaborate with other team members
- Promote independence through creativity, patience, and consistent support
- In some situations, help de-escalate individuals experiencing emotional stress
Who You Are:
- Dependable, patient, and compassionate
- Positive attitude and strong communication skills
- Able to adapt to changing needs and maintain professionalism
- Sense of humor recommended—you’ll need it sometimes!
Requirements:
- Valid Vermont driver’s license
- Safe, reliable, insured vehicle
- Must pass all required background checks
