Summary

The Dental/Orthodontic Assistant supports orthodontic care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the Nevada dental standards.Â

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Â include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Â

• Assists the doctor in procedures
• Takes x-raysÂ
• Takes IO'sÂ
• Assist in Prophylaxis cleaning of teethÂ
• Instructs patients on oral hygieneÂ
• Charts cavities and teeth with doctorÂ
• Sterilizes instrumentsÂ
• Sets up/breakdown and prepares rooms for treatment/hygieneÂ
• Charting of patient's treatment and treatment plan with doctorÂ
  
  

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

• Certification from a dental college OR t
  
  

hree to six months related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred

Required Certificates Or Licenses

• X-Ray Nevada certification or affidavitÂ
• BLS certificationÂ
• 4-hour Infection Control certification
