Duties
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately using Toast POS
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, and specialty beverages with precision and care.
- Operate cash registers efficiently, handling cash, credit card transactions, and POS operations seamlessly.
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in the café area, including food handling and preparation.
- Assist with food service tasks such as food presentation, serving baked goods or snacks, and restocking supplies.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service and minimize wait times.
- Engage with customers to promote sales, answer questions about menu items, and foster a friendly atmosphere.
Skills
- Proven experience as a barista with strong coffee-making skills and knowledge of beverage recipes.
- Previous cashiering experience using POS systems like Toast or Square is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and positively.
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during high-volume periods.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, proper food handling, and food preparation procedures.
