Position Summary
The Functional Area Expert (FAE) Network Analyst serves as a senior subject matter expert
responsible for analyzing, assessing, designing, and optimizing complex network architectures
and communications systems. The role provides technical leadership and operational expertise in
support of enterprise, tactical, cyber, intelligence, or defense network environments. The FAE
advises stakeholders on network performance, modernization initiatives, cybersecurity

Serve as the primary subject matter expert for network architecture, operations, and
performance analysis.
Evaluate existing network infrastructures and recommend improvements to enhance
reliability, security, and scalability.
Conduct network assessments, capability analyses, and operational studies.
Analyze network traffic, performance metrics, and security events to identify trends and
risks.
Support network modernization, cloud migration, and digital transformation initiatives.
Develop technical solutions to meet operational and mission requirements.
Provide guidance on network design, routing, switching, wireless communications, and
transport technologies.
Support cybersecurity compliance, risk management, and network defense activities.
Create technical reports, architecture diagrams, and executive briefings.
Advise program managers, engineers, government customers, and senior leadership on
network-related matters.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity,
Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Typically 10–15 years of network engineering, network operations, or network analysis
experience.
Extensive knowledge of enterprise and tactical networking technologies.
Experience With
TCP/IP networking
Routing and switching
WAN/LAN architectures
Network monitoring and management
Cybersecurity principles
Performance analysis and troubleshooting
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in a technical field.
