As we continue to expand, we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper/Auditor to support our financial operations, ensure compliance, and maintain accuracy.
Position Overview
The Bookkeeper/Auditor is responsible for overseeing billing, auditing, and bookkeeping functions across multiple clinics and specialties. This role requires deep knowledge of rules, insurance billing, financial reconciliation, compliance, and multi-specialty healthcare workflows. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Billing & Audit Oversight
- Manage end-to-end billing across chiropractic, acupuncture, LMT, primary care, behavioral health, and dental departments.
- Audit claims for accuracy, compliance, and proper documentation.
- Ensure correct coding, charge entry, claim submission, payment posting, and adjustments.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies, trends, and system errors.
- Monitor accounts receivable, reduce aging balances, and oversee follow-up on denials and appeals.
- Maintain adherence to all regulations, guidelines, and documentation standards.
- Provide training and support to staff regarding compliant billing practices.
Bookkeeping & Financial Reconciliation
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations related to payments.
- Manage EFT batches, merchant deposits, patient balances, and refunds.
- Support month-end close with financial reporting, summaries, and audit findings.
- Track expenses and collaborate on cost-saving initiatives.
Leadership & Operational Support
- Support the billing team to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
- Develop and refine workflows, policies, and SOPs for billing and auditing.
- Communicate regularly with leadership regarding compliance updates and revenue cycle performance.
- Partner with clinic managers and leaders to help resolve documentation or billing issues.
Qualifications
- 3 years of billing experience, with strong insurance knowledge.
- Expertise in CPT/ICD-10 coding and payer compliance.
- Bookkeeping, reconciliation, and audit experience required.
- Leadership or team oversight experience preferred.
- Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems.
- Strong communication, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Strict adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
