POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Specialist II works under the direction of the Human Resources & Corporate Compliance Manager and supports multiple HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, records management, and compliance tracking. The role provides employee-facing support on policies and procedures, maintains accurate personnel records and leave tracking, and assists with departmental projects using HR information systems. A small portion of this role supports grant writing and reporting. Work is performed within established policies and procedures, with routine matters handled independently and non‑routine issues escalated for review and approval.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate recruitment activities including job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling, and applicant communication.
- Assist in updating and maintaining recruitment procedures.
- Maintain and update personnel files.
- Process and track background checks, MVRs, LEIE screenings, and vehicle insurance documentation.
- Assist with annual document audits.
- Reconcile and process monthly medical bills.
- Assist with HRIS updates.
- Responsible for furnishing information from such files to authorized persons.
- Support Wellness Program activities.
- Maintains records of employment activity and assists in administration of employment training.
- Fields employee inquiries regarding benefits or other policy matters.
- Assists HR Manager in routine departmental tasks.
- Produce proposals, grants, grant reporting, and year end appeal letters in partnership with Marketing Specialist and E.D.
- Assist with development and maintenance of key performance indicators of individual giving strategies (including number of donor touchpoints, number of prospects, proposals/grants submitted, gift amount, follow up reports required) etc.
- Attends monthly Fundraising Committee meetings, monthly Events Committee meetings, and support events execution to meet public support revenue goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Abilities:

· Proficient with HRIS/ADP, Microsoft Office Suite or related software with the ability to learn to utilize new technologies.
· Ability to adhere to corporate policies as detailed in the Employee Policies and Procedures Handbook.
Education & Experience
Education
- Associates degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in Human Resources, Recruiting, Administration or related experience required.
- A combination of experience and education may be substituted for these requirements.
Certificates
- Required Washington State Driver’s license, basic vehicle liability insurance and be insurable.
- Required to submit and pass a Washington State Patrol background check as well as a DSHS background check.
- Must have, or obtain, a CPR certificate within six months of employment or current certification upon hire.
Other
This is a part-time position, totaling 32 hours per week with a flexible schedule.
SALARY & BENEFITS
Salary: $30.89 – 36.94 DOE
