The Role
We are looking for a high-level HVAC Mechanic with a specialized focus on Chiller Systems. You’ll be the go-to expert for our industrial, commercial, and residential clients, ensuring their environments stay controlled and efficient. From air-cooled units to complex water-cooled chiller loops, you will handle the heartbeat of our clients' facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Master the Chill: Install, maintain, and repair air-cooled and water-cooled chillers (including compressors, condensers, and evaporators).
Advanced Diagnostics: Use cutting-edge computerized systems to troubleshoot complex HVAC issues and BAS interfaces.
Precision Maintenance: Perform tube cleaning, oil analysis, leak detection, and refrigerant charging on large-tonnage equipment.
System Integrity: Manage seasonal commissioning, start-ups, and shutdowns for chiller systems and cooling towers.
Safety First: Maintain strict compliance with safety standards, including lockout/tagout and EPA refrigerant regulations.
Consultative Service: Act as a professional partner to our customers, clearly explaining system performance and repair solutions.
What You Bring to the Table
The Essentials:
Technical Foundation: A certification in HVAC, Electrical, or Mechanical systems.
Chiller Expertise: Proven hands-on experience with air-cooled and/or water-cooled chiller systems.
Refrigeration Knowledge: A deep understanding of refrigeration cycles and the ability to safely handle large-scale evacuations and charging.
The "Extra Mile" (Preferred):
Experience: 5 years in commercial or industrial HVAC.
Licensing: EPA Section 608 Certification.
Specialized Knowledge: Familiarity with centrifugal, screw, and scroll chillers, as well as Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
Tech-Savvy: Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and reading complex control wiring diagrams.
Optimization Skills: Knowledge of load calculations, system balancing, and energy efficiency practices.
