Children’s Lighthouse of Kyle is a premiere early learning school with a focus on developing children academically, socially, and emotionally from infants to school age children. Our Lighthouse PATHWAYS™ proprietary approach to learning helps build a child’s path to future success. The Children’s Lighthouse Franchise Company system is an accredited (Cognia) Early Learning School. Our purpose is to make a positive impact on the world, one child at a time, by giving them a safe, loving place to learn, make friends, and build confidence. We provide a safe environment for all with enhanced health and safety protocols. Each Children’s Lighthouse Early Learning School is independently owned and operated. At our school we will put our staff first ensuring our employees have all the tools, support, and the positive uplifting culture needed to be a successful preschool teacher and a happy employee. Professional Development training along with ongoing coaching and support will be provided to gain an understanding of Children’s Lighthouse required systems.

Education and Experience:

• Has minimum of 5-year experience as an Assistant Director or 3-years as a Director and a minimum of 5-years in a licensed childcare center.
• Working on meeting the State Requirements for a State license as a School Director, preferably with a non-renewable certificate, and is proficient in Texas State Minimum Standards.
• High focus and understanding of systems and processes.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supporting the overall day-to-day operations of Children’s Lighthouse.
• Support policies, procedures, and systems to always ensure a safe and healthy environment in compliance with Children’s Lighthouse and State standards.
• Participates responsibly in marketing and special events including open house, school events, etc.
• Supports change required for continual compliance, improvement, and success of the school.
• Recruits, hires, orients, trains, supervises, observes, and evaluates staff along with the School Director.
• Manages, supports, and follows budget in compliance with Franchisee guidelines.
• Represents Children’s Lighthouse to public, community, parents, visitors, and staff with professionalism and integrity.
• Attends/participates in meetings and trainings as directed.
• Consistently follows through with all duties and responsibilities as assigned in a competent and timely manner.
• Day to day operations in compliance with the quality standards of Children's Lighthouse.
• Assumes major responsibility for staff schedule, labor budget, and staff file compliance.
• Wise productive use of time.
• Able to accept and handle change.
• Accepts instruction and direction in an appropriate manner.
• Able to work flexible hours between 6:00 am and 7:00 pm.
• Able to pass a State and Federal Background Check
• Has a valid driver's license, can operate a motorized vehicle, and has a clean driving record.

• Lift a minimum of 20lbs.

• Knowledge of State and local standards.
• Knowledge of early child development and appropriate practices.
• Ability to ensure a safe, loving, learning environment for children.
• Counseling and behavior management skills required.
• Strong effective, interpersonal skills
• Ability to use technology as required and used by Children's Lighthouse CLFC.
• Participates in activities of professional and personal growth.

The Assistant Director reports to the School Director.
