The Role
We're looking for a dedicated, data-driven Teacher to deliver high-quality instruction in a dynamic, student-centered environment. You'll be part of a collaborative team committed to helping every student achieve, excel, and succeed.
What You'll Do
Instruction
- Design and deliver engaging, Common Core-aligned lessons tailored to diverse learners
- Use blended, inquiry-based, and project-based learning strategies
- Leverage data to drive instructional decisions and address learning gaps daily
- Manage classroom culture using Responsive Classroom philosophies
- Integrate technology to enhance student learning
Collaboration & Teamwork
- Partner with teaching assistants, clinicians, and support staff to deliver holistic services
- Engage parents and caregivers as active partners in student education
- Communicate openly and effectively with all team members
Leadership
- Model best practices and mentor peers and students
- Contribute to a collegial, accountable school culture
- Champion the mission and values of The Children's Guild
Documentation
- Maintain accurate, timely records including attendance, IEPs, progress reports, behavior plans, and report cards
- Meet all regulatory, licensing, and funding documentation requirements
Professional Growth
- Participate in campus and agency-wide professional development
- Stay current on certifications and continuing education requirements
What We're Looking For
- Valid teaching certification (required)
- Strong understanding of Common Core State Standards
- Experience with data analysis and differentiated instruction
- Familiarity with behavioral support strategies and culturally responsive teaching
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student success
The successful candidate must possess a Bachelors' Degree in Education from an accredited college or institution and have appropriate licensures with a content specialization. Two to four years of experience or training or an equivalent combination of education/experience is recommended. A state teaching certificate with reciprocity to the District of Columbia is required to be eligible.
Skills Required:
Candidates should be well versed in standard instruction, classroom management, student engagement, communication, and lesson planning.

Salary : $60,000 - $90,000
