At Monarch Preschool College Park, every day is an opportunity to plant the seeds of a lifetime of learning. We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated Lead Preschool Teacher to join our team and help our youngest learners take their first steps toward a bright future.
Who We Are
Monarch Preschool College Park is an affiliate of The Children's Guild and TranZed Alliance — one of the most experienced child-serving nonprofit organizations in the Greater Baltimore/Washington region. Located in Prince George's County, Maryland, our preschool provides a nurturing, play-based, and trauma-informed early childhood experience for children ages 3–5, including those with diverse developmental and learning needs.
We believe every child deserves a strong foundation — academically, socially, emotionally, and developmentally — and our team shows up every day to make that a reality.
The Opportunity
As a Lead Preschool Teacher, you will be the heart of your classroom — creating a safe, joyful, and developmentally rich environment where young children can explore, discover, and grow. You will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, play-based, and developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with Maryland Early Learning Standards
- Create a warm, structured, and nurturing classroom environment that supports the social-emotional development of all learners
- Support children with diverse developmental needs, including those with IEPs, through individualized instruction and accommodations
- Observe and document child development, progress, and learning to inform instruction and communicate with families
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with families through regular communication, conferences, and family engagement activities
- Collaborate with assistant teachers, special educators, therapists, and support staff as part of the classroom team
- Implement trauma-informed, culturally responsive teaching practices that honor each child's background and experience
- Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized classroom environment in compliance with Maryland Child Care Administration licensing requirements
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and program-wide initiatives
