Children’s Respiratory and Critical Care Specialists, PA is in search of an experienced medical biller to join our team. We are expanding our billing department. This could be a hybrid role working in the office 1-2 days per week or a full time in office position based on your personal preference.
Job Summary:
Provide daily management of claims processing and denied claims. Perform regular and consistent follow up, denial management, correction and/or reprocessing claims as necessary to ensure timely resolution. Manage out of state Medicaid payer enrollment process.
Job Description/Responsibilities:
- Manage all denials and accounts receivables daily
- Contact payers to determine reason for claim denial
- Manage out of state Medicaid claims by verifying provider is enrolled, completing enrollment applications when needed and maintaining online portals.
- Provide a high level of customer service to families and third party payers
- Perform charge corrections, submit replacement claims and appeals to third party payers
- Utilize all resources available, including electronic inquires to verify eligibility, and claim status
- Exercise good judgement towards account resolution and document all activity in clear, accurate, and consistent manner
- Meet departmental productivity and quality assurance standards
- Resolve billing errors and work with third party payers, toward efficient and effective claims resolution
- Inform business office manager of repetitive billing errors, third party payer trends, denials, or payment fluctuation, to ensure proper handling and escalation when necessary
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of third-party billing and collection requirements for payers
- Contact families for additional information in order to have claims
- processed and paid in a timely manner
- Actively participate in creating and implementing improvements
- Performs other responsibilities as needed/assigned

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years of healthcare billing and claims experience in a medical office setting.
- Experience with Medicaid billing preferred.
- Experience with payer enrollment preferred.
- Experience with an automated billing system. eClinicalWorks experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
Hours and Benefits:
- Full time, up to 40 hours per week
- Location – Our Minneapolis Office
- Hybrid position after training is completed. Current staff share working in the office and working from home. Arrangements could be made for some to work in the office full-time if desired. A typical week is 1-2 days in the office and 3-4 days at home. Staff have some flexibility in their hours. They need to work 8 hours between the hours of 7:00 am and 5:00 pm on weekdays. This maximizes the time you are available to work with coworkers and insurance companies. Office and remote work balance may change as the needs of the department or office change.
- Training will be in person in our Minneapolis office. Training timeline will be based on the experience and needs of the applicant.
