Job Summary

The individual in this position will serve as an application integration resource. Success in this role requires strong analytic ability and the ability to quickly learn the basics of HL7 integration. Systems integration at Children’s of Alabama (COA) includes the sharing of data (admission/discharge/transfer messages, clinical orders, clinical results, clinical observations, clinical documentation, etc.) via HL7 messages, between multiple financial and clinical systems. This position requires analysis, documentation, design and development for a variety of interfaces between multiple applications. This position requires learning the basic input, output and processing requirements of approximately 60 applications and tools.

Education

Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering or related business degree combined with two years experience in Information Technology or Health Care.
OR
Associates Degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering or related business degree combined with four years experience in Information Technology or Health Care.
OR
Six years of progressively responsible experience in Information Technology field or Health Care..

Prior experience with health care related systems and integration tools preferred.

Licensures, Certifications, and/or RegistriesWill be required to be Epic Bridges Certified within three months
