Department Overview
Children's Hospitals and Clinics Foundation department is the fundraising arm of Children's. Gifts to the Foundation support treatment programs, provide support for patients and families, fund medical research, and raise awareness of pediatric health issues throughout the community.
Position Summary
The Major Gift Officer is responsible for securing gifts and managing relationships through the donor cycle for donors and prospective donors. These gifts include blended gifts such as current use annual gifts as well as major, planned and principal gifts. She/he will have responsibility for meeting a specific individual revenue target by aligning the interests of donors with the needs of Children's Minnesota. She/he will serve as a liaison to a higher volume core clinical area(s). She/he may also be assigned to project work and may serve as secondary relationship manager for key volunteers.
The Major Gift Officer will manage a portfolio of donors and have at least 12-15 meaningful donor meetings per month. They will secure at least $1M annually.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.
In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.

Education:
- Bachelor's degree or higher, with a focus in fundraising, marketing, sales or other applicable disciplines.
- A minimum of 3-5 years in fundraising or related experience. Non-profit background a plus with a minimum of one year of major gift fundraising; a proven track record of soliciting and closing gifts at the $100,000 plus level preferred.
- Build new and long-term relationships with prospects, donors, medical and other hospital staff, and volunteers
- Articulate the importance of pediatric healthcare to donors/prospects
- Think strategically and work independently
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and multi-task
- Experience with Raiser's Edge a plus
- Creative, resourceful and intuitively driven
- Superior verbal and written communications skills
- Organized, detailed oriented, with strong follow through
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office)
