Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) to join our team. Children's Mercy Department of Social Work, Child and Family Mental Health Services provides programing, which supports families through evidence-based clinical services. Our mental health services are provided for a broad range of patients and families, including children in mental health crisis, parents struggling with child's behavioral problems, children and families who have been impacted by trauma, and children at risk for abuse and neglect. The age range for patients to receive services is as young as 2 and up to 18, or older within the emergency department should there be a need. Goals of treatment may include safety planning, crisis stabilization, skill development, enhanced resiliency, social integration, improved ability of parents to support their child, improved communication, and parenting skills. Our specially trained master level licensed clinicians are embedded throughout the hospital system within specialty clinics, ambulatory clinics, inpatient units, and emergency departments.

Responsibilities
- Child and Family Therapy Service Provision and Documentation: The Child and Family Mental Health Provider will provide evidence based mental health treatments to patients and families within the clinical area they are assigned.
- Case Management and Collaboration: The Child and Family Mental Health Provider will maintain ongoing communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure strong partnerships. This may include communication with referral sources, service providers, community mental health providers and care team members. as well as, assisting families with accessing community services and transitioning to other treatment providers when needed.
- Professional Development: This Child and Family Mental Health Provider will demonstrate active involvement and leadership within the team, department, and hospital by regular attendance at meetings and educational opportunities, serving as a consultant for other members of the department and hospital, participation on committees, and responding to hospital and/or community requests for educational programs.
Experience
Candidates should have the following qualifications:
- Master's Degree, from an accredited program, plus 1-2 years of experience.
Must have the following licensure:
- Must have a social work license (LMSW/LCSW/LSCSW) or professional counseling license (LPC/LCPC) in the state of primary work location upon hire and then be dually licensed in both states within 90 days of employment.
Candidates licensed with a master level social work license, must be engaged in clinical supervision.
