A Brief Overview

We are seeking a full-time master’s prepared social worker for the Neonatal/Infant Intensive Care Unit at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. This social worker will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide psychosocial support to newborn and infant patients and their families in the NIICU setting. Social work services include crisis intervention, assessment of psychosocial functioning, supportive counseling and education, anticipatory guidance, bereavement support, referral to community resources, help with accessing benefits, and assistance with concrete needs. Social Work experience in the medical field is preferred.

What You Will Do

  • Provides skilled psychosocial assessment and collaborates with care team in order to provide quality comprehensive treatment to patients and families. Evaluates the effectiveness of professional services and adjusts/redefines goals and modalities as indicated. Shares information regarding patient family situation with staff from other agencies and programs as appropriate in accordance with applicable confidentiality guidelines and relevant law. Organizes workload and sets priorities based on patient care needs. Adheres to medical-legal reporting requirements.
  • Completes documentation in a timely manner that is legible, clear and organized according to department, hospital and legal standards.
  • Provides leadership in identifying barriers to effective service delivery or problems in work assignments. Actively contributes in initiatives that improve service delivery through department, hospital or community based committees.
  • Recognizes professional strengths and areas for growth and is accountable for development and enhancement of professional practice skills.
  • Adheres to NASW Code of Ethics and CHOP Social Work Department standards for continuing education, participation in professional home committees, meetings and available for cross-coverage assignments as needed.

Education Qualifications

  • Master's Degree Social Work Required

Experience Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a hospital, health organization or mental health agency setting Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

  • Licensed Social Worker (LSW) (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire - Preferred
  • Membership in the Academy of Certified Social Workers (ACSW) - Academy of Certified Social Workers (ACSW) - upon hire - Preferred

SALARY RANGE:

$69,200.00 - $88,200.00 Annually

Salary ranges are shown for full-time jobs. If you're working part-time, your pay will be adjusted accordingly.
