Job Overview

The Project Manager – Design Technology (CAFM / IWMS & BIM) is responsible for managing the technology, data, and workflows that connect design, construction, and space & occupancy across the hospital enterprise.

This role ensures that BIM, CAD, and CAFM/IWMS data is organized, authoritatively maintained, and documented to support regulatory compliance, space management reporting, emergency planning, operational decision-making, and long-term strategic growth.

The position partners closely with Construction PM’s, design/construction consultants, Facility MEP Engineers, Life Safety specialists, and others to ensure digital building information is maintained in a repository, is accurate, trusted, and usable.

Is responsible for establishing and maintaining standards, processes, and governance for:

  • BIM and record documentation
  • CAFM / IWMS data structures
  • Naming, classification, and version control
  • Oversee model quality control and ensure all project record documents align with BIM requirements.
  • Ensure project closeout packages include accurate as-built models.
  • Optimize the utilization of clinical and non-clinical space, through CAD floor plan management, utilization space audits, and relocation coordination.
  • Create block and stack plans, develop space layout options for departmental reorganizations.
  • Assist with analyzing headcount to optimize seat/room assignments.

Duties & Responsibilities

Essential Functions

An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.

  • Develops and gains approval of planning, design and construction project plans, which outline the objectives of the project, scope of work, and project elements.
  • Coordinates the vendor selection process; assists with contract negotiations and preparations then monitors projects for conformance to approved plans and contract specifications.
  • Develops and monitors project budgets, which includes allocating resources and tracking and approving expenditures; prepares reports detailing the status of the project budget.
  • Coordinates the work of consultants and team members who have been assigned responsibility for various portions of a project; confers with multi-disciplinary leaders to establish work plan responsibilities and scope of authority; ensures technical proficiency and productivity of project staff and arranges for training as necessary.
  • Plans and conducts project meetings with stakeholders and team members; develops and maintains a communication plan and related project status reports for key stakeholders.
  • Reviews and analyzes project changes requests and makes recommendations related to the execution of these requests.
  • Conducts risk and cost/benefit analyses, manages risk associated with projects, and devises strategies to deal with unexpected crises and unresolved risks.
  • Performs project closure activities including release of contract and permanent team members from the project, and completing lessons learned and project implementation review of best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degrees
    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, computer science, or a directly related field
  • Experience
    • Three years of project management or business/project analyst experience
  • Preferred Experience
Concentration in Interior Architecture, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management, or related field preferred

Demonstrated Experience With

  • CAFM / IWMS platforms (e.g., Archibus or similar)
  • AutoCAD and Revit
  • Managing space, occupancy, or facility data
  • Healthcare space planning / BIM experience is a plus

Technical Skills

AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, CAFM / IWMS tools (Archibus or equivalent), Understanding of BIM workflows and as-built documentation, Data analysis and reporting related to space and facilities

  • Equivalency
    • In lieu of bachelor’s degree, four years of professional experience will substitute.
Salary Information

Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $82,095.81 to $123,143.72
