Qualifications
- EDUCATION –Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or related field of study. EXPERIENCE – Inpatient experience strongly preferred. Pediatric and feeding experience beneficial. CERTIFICATION(S) - BLS for Healthcare Providers/CPR LICENSURE - Colorado State Registration for Occupational Therapy - National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy; Credentialing must be completed by the Medical Staff Office (MSO) within 3 months of employment.
- An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.
- Collaborates with the family, physicians, schools, and other providers to ensure continuum of care for the child and optimal clinical services.
- Completes written documentation in accordance with department standards for format, location, and time frames.
- Independently evaluates children from birth to 21 years of age, with a variety of diagnosis, in specialized programs, on inpatient and/or outpatient units. Incorporates principles of cultural-competence and family-centered care into clinical services.
- Assists in achieving departmental financial budget targets.
- Demonstrates leadership and participates in systematic, planned professional development to improve the clinical, educational, research, and advocacy goals of the department and hospital.
- Provides consultation and education to families.
- Treat children with a variety of diagnoses, and in specialized programs on inpatient and outpatient units. Incorporates principles of cultural-competence and family-centered care into clinical services. Seeks out appropriate mentoring/training and consults with relative Clinical Practice Specialist and/or assigned mentor for complex patient diagnoses.
