What are the responsibilities and job description for the Volunteer Prayer Advocate position at Children of the Nations?
Job Description Summary:
Children of the Nations Volunteer Prayer Advocates are an incredible group of supporters who
regularly pray for the children and the ministry of Children of the Nations at a deeper level. The
team meets regularly to cover ministry updates with prayer and praises. We get to see God answer prayer!
Job Description Detail:
- Meet regularly with other Prayer Advocates to pray for the ministry of Children of the
Nations. - Received emailed prayer updates so you can pray for COTN’s children during the week.
- Share prayer needs with your church and community.
- Be a part of a community of Advocates who care about helping children.
- From meeting your local team to COTN leadership, become connected to the larger
ministry to children. - Attend meaningful in-person and virtual prayer events to get to know other Volunteer
Advocates. - Volunteer Prayer Advocates add meaning to their lives as they pray for children around the world.
We believe prayer is a mutually transforming experience for both you and the children as we
intercede on behalf of each other. As a Volunteer Prayer Advocate, you are actively living out the Biblical command to pray.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Active member of your local church.
- Current COTN child sponsors are a plus but not required.
- Strong faith and dependence on Jesus Christ.
- Demonstrated and sincere interest in Children of the Nation’s ministry.
- A commitment to pray for COTN children.
- Ability to invest 1 – 2 hours per week in the Volunteer Prayer Advocate Program.
- A friendly demeanor with an interest in faithfully upholding COTN in prayer.
- Strong commitment to uphold and support COTN’s Mission, Vision, Core Values, Operating Principles, and Code of Conduct.
- Advocates for our children, raising awareness of their needs and potential, and challenging and enabling those within one’s sphere of influence to greater involvement with COTN.
