Key Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients warmly, ensuring a positive first impression
- Schedule and manage appointments using EMR systems (e.g., eClinicalWorks)
- Verify insurance eligibility and assist with billing and collections
- Answer and manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism and efficiency
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation
- Assist with patient intake, data entry, and updating health information
- Support clinical staff with care coordination and follow-up scheduling
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, Eaglesoft)
- Knowledge of medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10) is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills
- Strong understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
- Bilingual skills are a plus
- Prior clinic, hospital, or dental office experience highly preferred
