Primary Purpose:

Organize and manage the routine work activities of the department office, as well as provide clerical services to department leadership and other staff members.  Handle confidential information and frequent contact with all levels of district employees, outside agencies, parents/community and the general public and provide secretarial support to the Director of Child Nutrition.

Qualifications:

      Education/Certification:

• High school diploma or equivalent. 

      Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time and deal with timelines
• Must demonstrate positive communication with the community, staff and business community
• Must be able to operate office equipment (i.e. computer, fax, copy and telephone) with a reasonably high degree of proficiency
• Must be able to create correspondence and memos with minimal instructions 

Experience:

• Three years secretarial experience or 30 semester hours of college credit or equivalent training
• Three years educational secretary experience preferred

3. Demonstrates sound judgment in disseminating information and maintaining confidentiality at all times.     
4. Maintains and schedule appointments as required.
5. Prepares documents and maintain files.
6. Reviews mail and make necessary distribution.
7. Orders and maintain office supplies.
8. Performs duties as required of the position to run an efficient and effective program.

      None

      Personal computer, typewriter, printer, copier, fax machine and calculator

Working Conditions:

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Position may require periods of sitting at computer or standing at copier.  Some lifting of boxes.  Use of vehicle is necessary to run errands and pick up supplies as necessary.  Sometimes necessary to work after hours to complete projects.
