The Business Systems Analyst is a key technical contributor within the IT department responsible for designing, developing, and supporting custom business applications, data solutions, workflow automations and reporting systems across the organization. This position serves as both a developer and solutions analyst, bridging business needs with modern, scalable, secure technology solutions.
The role encompasses application development, data modeling, systems integration, and the creation of internal tools using a variety of technologies across Microsoft 365 and other enterprise platforms, including the Electronic Health Record (myEvolv), HR/Payroll systems (Paycom), Learning Management Systems (LMS) and additional business applications.
This position also plays a strategic role in SharePoint governance, Power Platform solution development and cross platform automation initiatives in addition to system design, improving workflows, building user friendly applications, supporting data initiatives and ensuring compliance with organizational, technical and regulatory requirements (including HIPAA).

- Design, develop and deliver custom reports and dashboards across myEvolv, HR/Payroll, LMS and other internal/external systems.
- Build and support advanced analytics solutions using Power BI/Tableau, including semantic models, DAX, ETL processes and shared datasets.
- Integrate organizational data from multiple systems to enable unified analytics, regulatory reporting and operational insights.
- Train staff in accessing, interpreting and leveraging reports to support data driven decision making.
- Perform ongoing data validation, reconciliation and quality assurance across systems.
- Develop custom business applications and tools using Power Apps, SharePoint, Python, SQL or other relevant frameworks.
- Enhance existing internal applications and automations to improve workflows, productivity and system usability.
- Support development projects that require integration between the EHR, HR/Payroll system, training systems and other enterprise platforms.
- Participate in the design and deployment of new functionality within agency systems, including custom forms, workflows, APIs and scripts.
- Provide technical consultation on system limitations, best practices and design recommendations.
- Ensure Microsoft 365 solutions (SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform) follow agency governance, compliance and security standards.
- Design, build, and support workflow automations using Power Automate, scripting and integrations with third party APIs.
- Automate business processes across multiple platforms (EHR, HRIS, LMS, Finance, etc.).
- Optimize existing automations to improve performance, reliability and scalability.
- Assist with system configuration, data extraction, form enhancements, reporting functions and workflow improvements within myEvolv.
- Support EHR upgrades, testing, validation and implementation of new modules.
- Troubleshoot and resolve EHR related data and reporting issues in collaboration with the HIS and Technical teams.
- Document and track EHR assistance, development changes and system updates.
- Lead or support assigned IT and EHR projects, ensuring timely delivery and cross team collaboration.
- Maintain accurate project status, documentation and communication with stakeholders.
- Assist other team members during high volume periods, outages or cross functional initiatives.
- Provide end user training, guidance and issue resolution as needed.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA, information security standards and agency policies.
- Implement and uphold data governance practices ensuring data integrity, accuracy and consistency.
- Monitor emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to improve system performance and business capabilities.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong overall IT aptitude and technical capability.
- High level of attention to detail; organized, accurate and dependable.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse personality types.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Availability for after hours or on call support during emergencies or planned system maintenance.
