Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) working day, evening, and weekend shifts to provide compassionate, personalized care to individuals with developmental disabilities and other support needs. Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote comfort and independence.
- Support medication administration and monitor vital signs to ensure health and safety.
- Provide engaging social activities and companionship to enhance residents’ emotional well-being.
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and mobility aids safely and effectively.
- Maintain accurate documentation using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, including incident reports and care plans.
- Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care, through specialized techniques and behavior management strategies.
- Assist with meal preparation, cleaning, and maintaining a safe, clean environment in accordance with health standards.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of assisted living, long-term care, home & community care practices, and senior care techniques.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities in group home or personal care home settings.
- Certification or experience in first aid, CPR, and medication administration is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, behavior management strategies, and memory care approaches.
- Ability to operate EMR systems efficiently while maintaining confidentiality of resident information.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members, residents, families, and healthcare providers.
