What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Coordinator position at Chief?
Overseeing the flow of product and ensuring deliveries are completed accurately and on time. Responsibilities include preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, monitoring shipment progress, and addressing logistical challenges. This role also involves maintaining clear communication with both customers and internal teams to support smooth and efficient operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carries out responsibilities with safety and efficiency as a priority. Prioritizes the well-being of colleagues and actively contributes to the safety program by collaborating, sharing ideas, and voicing concerns. Adheres to training guidelines, policies, and procedures while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Proactively identifies and addresses potential hazards.
- Create bills of loading, packing slips, and other necessary paperwork for shipping.
- Work with various shipping companies to arrange for the transportation of products, while negotiating rates.
- Monitor the progress of shipments, providing updates to customers and internal teams and resolving any delays or issues.
- Assist with other duties within the shipping department.
- Operates forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment to safely and efficiently transport materials as required.
- Capable of working independently or as a team with minimum supervision.
Shift:
- 2nd Shift - 4:30pm - 3:00am
