What are the responsibilities and job description for the Powder Coat Lead position at Chief?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform all standard duties within the powder coating department, including operating both automatic and manual paint systems.
- Program and run paint guns to achieve optimal finish quality.
- Set up the paint system for proper sequencing of gaps for color, product, customer changes, and production needs.
- Responsible for initiating and/or shutting down the powder coat line and oven in accordance with established procedures to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
- Maintain compliance with all quality control procedures and standards.
- Ensure proper use of machines, tools, and equipment; report maintenance needs promptly to minimize downtime.
- Improve handling, hanging, racking, and line density to optimize efficiency.
- Assist in training and directing department employees.
- Communicate and enforce company rules, regulations, and policies.
- Oversee material handling methods to ensure smooth production flow.
- Respond to chemical spill emergencies and follow SDS guidelines for material handling.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Complete accurate production records and daily labor time cards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
