What are the responsibilities and job description for the Leadperson position at Chief?
Supports daily operations by performing departmental tasks alongside team members while serving as a backup to the supervisor. This role ensures a safe and productive work environment, enforces adherence to quality and production standards, and provides guidance and coaching to employees. The Lead Person is also responsible for resolving issues, minimizing scrap, and maintaining an organized, detail-oriented approach to achieving team goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carries out responsibilities with safety and efficiency as a priority. Prioritizes the well-being of colleagues and actively contributes to the safety program by collaborating, sharing ideas, and voicing concerns. Adheres to training guidelines, policies, and procedures while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Proactively identifies and addresses potential hazards.
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations and ensure production schedules are met.
- Effectively guide and motivate teams, delegate tasks, and foster a positive work environment, while ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Full understanding of production processes, quality control methods, and relevant tools.
- Identify and resolve issues that impact production efficiency or quality.
- Apply company policies and procedures fairly and consistently.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Have a thorough understanding of Chief’s ERP system (IFS)
- Operates forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment to safely and efficiently transport materials as required.
- Capable of working independently or as a team with minimum supervision.
Shift:
- 1st shift - 6:00 am - 4:30 pm CDT
- 2nd shift - 4:30 pm - 3:00 am CDT
