Pay Range: $ 33.55 - $38.35

    Job Summary: 

    Under the direction of the Development leadership, the Fund Development Associate supports all efforts related to fundraising and development at Chief Seattle Club (CSC). This individual plays a crucial role within the Development team by assisting in fundraising initiatives. Responsibilities include fostering donor relationships, managing fundraising events, maintaining the donor database efficiently, and ensuring smooth development operations. Additionally, duties involve crafting and implementing donor engagement strategies and coordinating volunteer groups, thereby directly contributing to and enhancing the impact of CSC. 

     This is a fully onsite position Monday - Friday.

    Essential Job Functions: 

    Annual Giving Support (approximately 25%)



    • Supports planning of the Annual Fund Campaign including identification and cultivation of new donor prospects, stewardship of current donors, and solicitation.

    • Tracks progress throughout the year and reports results to leadership and stakeholders. 

    • Supports the annual appeals process.

    • Leads Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database to maintain accurate donor data and communication tools. 

    • Partners with the Accounting and Finance team to ensure accurate donor and gift data, updating procedures and protocols and ensuring accuracy of data. 

    • Manages acknowledgments, receipts and resolves payment exceptions for cash, credit, and in-kind donations through a myriad of platforms

    • Supports CSC development and maintains working knowledge of agency programs, goals and results; clearly communicates information to donors and supporters. 


    Donor Communications (approximately 25%)



    • Provides donor acknowledgements for individual supporters and in-kind donors. 

    • Implements donor communication plans for individual supporters and in-kind donors that advance donor engagement and giving. 



    •  Works alongside the development team to produce communications, such as appeals, updates, event invitations, and other materials directed at donors and other target audiences 



    • Ensures that the CSC brand is relevant and an accurate reflection of CSC’s mission, vision, and values. 

    • Works in conjunction with team members to create visually and graphically appealing print and digital communications. 


    Event Management (50%)



    • Manages, designs, implements, and leads in-person and virtual special events and donor cultivation. 

    • Creates and maintains mailing lists and event collateral. 

    • Manages sponsor and attendee recruitment, correspondence, recognition, and tracks progress towards goals.

    • Promotes fundraising events through print and digital platforms.

    • Manages the creative direction of special events in collaboration with other agency staff and leadership. 

    • Develops post-event analysis and reflection to optimize subsequent event planning. 



    • Provides project management to other development efforts

    • Serves as liaison between Development projects and events with day-to-day staff when relevant.

    • Serves as a point-of-contact for development partnerships across the organization. 

    • Budget: Supports the Development Leadership to track the department budget across all divisions in the department.

    • Coordinate & Engage Volunteers: Organize, manage, and support volunteer groups to enhance fundraising efforts and community impact.


    Non-Essential Job Functions:



    • Provide administrative and technical support to other members of the Development Team and the organization as needed.



    • Relationships: Build relationships with staff and partners, conducting oneself with excellent customer service and respect for the members and partners of Chief Seattle Club. 

    • Maintain active engagement in promoting a safe work environment by following safety procedures and participating in required safety trainings relevant to this role.

    • Perform other duties as situation requires or as assigned by supervisor.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:  


Education: Associate’s degree in related field; equivalent experience may be considered; bachelor’s degree preferred.  


Experience: 1-2 years of experience in community engagement, outreach, nonprofit, or related field preferred. Must have knowledge of and experience in planning, scheduling, and executing large and small events. 


 


Technical Skills & Competencies: 



  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.



  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with database management, preferably Salesforce or similar CRM databases. 

  • Knowledge of community development principles, grant writing, or nonprofit operations is a plus.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills, diplomacy, and a non-judgmental, positive, problem-solving attitude.

  • Demonstrated project management skills: exceptional attention to detail, time management, follow-through and ability to meet deadlines, communication, organization and planning.

  • Ability to multi-task, switching between leadership roles and support roles as needed; adaptability and flexibility as agency priorities change.

  • Ability to manage projects independently with little supervision and report on elements that need the Director’s attention.


Physical Requirements & Work Environment:  



  • Ability to sit for long hours at the computer.

  • Must be able to travel locally to various community sites and partner locations.

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. (when handling paper supplies and deliveries)

  • Occasional evening and weekend work to attend community events and meetings. 

  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment with regular visits to community locations.
