SUMMARY
Teachers shall be responsible for supervision, instruction, training, and other functions, as requested by the administration, of all students enrolled in their program. This position requires a flexible schedule with daytime professional development days per school calendar.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED and a minimum of at least three years recent (within the last five years) journeymen level industrial experience in the area to be taught required. Journeyman license in area to be taught required. Preference may be given for a Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree and/or an Oklahoma standard teaching certification with vocational certification.

- Meet and instruct students providing performance based individualized and group instruction utilizing a variety of instructional techniques.
- Assist in development, revision, and updating of competency-based curriculum materials including written curriculum and audio-visual instructional support materials.
- Instruct students in the use, care, and safe operation of machinery and equipment and the care of furniture, material, and supplies.
- Instruct students in the importance and significance of accuracy, neatness, efficiency, resourcefulness, and good work habits in obtaining and retaining employment in business.
- Sponsor or co-sponsor a chapter of Skills USA, the student organization for students in Trade and Industrial Education programs.
- Work cooperatively with the Academic Center instructor to provide educational services for students who need related math or reading.
- Organize time so that classroom instruction, laboratory work, and cleanup activities can be accomplished
in allotted time.
- Evaluate each student's performance based on knowledge, skills, and attitudes learned in the areas being
taught; maintain competency records, prepare progress reports and employment references for students.
- Maintain accurate record of attendance for each student.
- Maintain a clean and orderly classroom, shop room, storage room, and office space.
- Maintain an emergency data file on each student enrolled.
- Use proper purchasing procedures when buying materials or equipment.
- Maintain required inventory records on all equipment, supplies, and materials.
- Prepare and submit reports required by the State and the District.
- Assist students in dealing with personal, social, and vocational problems.
- Provide eligible students an opportunity for on-the-job training related to the instructional program.
- Assist students in securing employment and /or furthering their education upon completion of the program.
- Maintain continued contact with the business community to keep in touch with job entry requirements, current business trends, and equipment.
- Assist administration in counseling and contacting of students and parents in regard to attendance.
- Work cooperatively with other instructors, administration, and staff.
- Participate in the team management process by working on committees and task forces.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings.
- Maintain professional competence through participation in the staff development plan, in-service education activities, and selected professional growth activities.
- Maintain an active advisory committee program and meet a minimum of twice a year.
- Assist in upholding and enforcing the rules and regulations of the Board of Education.
- Develop individual goals and objectives that are consistent with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the school.
- Participate in the evaluation process with the assigned administrator.
- Maintain a professional attitude through participation in professional organizations.
- Attend the annual career and technical education conference in August and other conferences and workshops as required.
- Physical presence on campus between the hours of 7:30 AM and 4:00 PM, excepting an hour lunch between the hours of 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM at Chickasha campus; or 7:45 AM and 4:15 PM, excepting an hour lunch between the hours of 11:15 AM and 12:15 PM at Cowan and El Reno campuses.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REPORTING HOURS
Employee is expected to work a minimum of 7.5 hours per scheduled work day. Press of business may require employee to work outside or in addition set work hours.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Requires reliable, dependable and punctual attendance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Salary : $65,918 - $82,517
