Seasonal Steward (Dishwasher)
Employment Period: April – End of October (Seasonal)
Compensation: $20.00 – $21.00 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule Requirement: Open availability required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Reports To: Executive Chef / Sous Chef / Kitchen Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking reliable and hardworking Seasonal Stewards to join our culinary team for the upcoming season. This position runs from April through the end of October, with the opportunity to return next season based on successful performance and completion of the current season.
The Steward plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of the kitchen and back-of-house areas. This individual ensures that all dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment are cleaned and sanitized to Club standards, supporting a smooth and efficient culinary operation.
The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced team environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Operate dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently
- Wash and properly store dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen floors, walls, mats, and work areas
- Empty trash and recycling in accordance with sanitation standards
- Assist with receiving and properly storing deliveries as directed
- Maintain organization of storage areas and dish stations
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
- Support kitchen team members as needed during peak service times
- Perform additional cleaning or related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous stewarding or dishwashing experience preferred but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong attention to cleanliness and detail
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 40–50 pounds as needed
- Must have open availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong work ethic and reliability
