GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Host is responsible for creating an excellent dining experience for each club member through personal interaction, timely service and a positive attitude. Works as part of a cohesive front of house team to provide quality service to the club’s membership and their guests, and reports to the Food & Beverage Director. Responsible for keeping the pace of service. Is willing and able to work in both A La Carte and Banquet functions.
The best candidate has a confident demeanor and embodies the spirit of hospitality. They present themselves in a professional fashion. Is able to work weekends and holidays. Develops a good relationship with members and can anticipate a member/guests needs. Is well organized and good at planning ahead. Develops strong working relationships with colleagues and Club members to provide better service to the membership. Observes all applicable Club policies and procedures, including adhering to established leave and attendance policies, safety rules and regulations, and use of Club property.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE
- Oversee that the dining room for service to the standards of Food & Beverage Management
- Greet all members and guests by name, while offering introductions to new guests
- Show guests to their table to be seated
- Assign a Server to each table on a rotational basis based on business and Management input
- Utilize table numbers to aid in proper food and beverage delivery
- Confident utilization and understanding of POS systems used by the club
- Keep clear and open communication with Servers, Server Assistants and Food Runner/Expediter to ensure prompt service, correct delivery, and execution of all food items
- Clean all menus daily before, after and during all meal periods
- Provide an exceptional dining experience to the guest
- Coordinate with the Front of House team to best service the members and guest of the club
- Maintain both lobby and coat room to a clean and sanitary standard
- Have all bathrooms checked for cleanliness every hour, if dirty inform housekeeping to see it is cleaned
- When members are leaving, thank them for coming in and wish them well
- Self-motivated in work and ability to anticipate guest needs
- Assist members in finding events and people around the club; always know who is in the clubhouse
- Cashier banquet events with 100% accuracy
- Check coats for larger banquet events
- Able to lift items weighing up to 30lbs
- Familiarity with menu items and industry terms
- Perform related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
One year prior experience host in a restaurant, hotel, resort or private club preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Applicant should have demonstrated:
- Ability to present themselves in a clean, professional manner
- Strong knowledgemof lunch and dinner service
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha, Micros, Etc.
- Use of sanitary work habits
- Punctual and dependable, with reliable transportation to and from the club
- High proficiency in the English language
Salary : $18 - $20
