Role Description
Chicago Title is seeking an experienced Senior Escrow Officer to join our growing team in Columbus, Ohio. This is a full-time, on-site position responsible for managing residential real estate transactions from contract to closing. The Escrow Officer will coordinate all aspects of the closing process, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while delivering an outstanding customer experience.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in handling multiple transactions simultaneously. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with lenders, real estate agents, buyers, sellers, and internal partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage residential real estate transactions from opening through post-closing.
- Prepare escrow instructions and closing documents.
- Review title commitments and assist in resolving title issues.
- Prepare and balance settlement statements and Closing Disclosures (CDs).
- Coordinate with lenders, real estate agents, buyers, sellers, and attorneys to facilitate successful closings.
- Conduct closings and ensure all documents are executed accurately and timely.
- Balance files, disburse funds, and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the transaction process.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all files meet underwriting and compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of escrow and real estate closing experience preferred.
- Experience preparing settlement statements and Closing Disclosures (CDs).
- Proven ability to balance files and accurately disburse escrow funds.
- Strong knowledge of title insurance, title clearance, and real estate closing procedures.
- Experience coordinating transactions with lenders, agents, buyers, and sellers.
- Possession of a Notary Public certification or willingness to obtain.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
- Proficiency with title and escrow software platforms is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certifications in real estate, escrow, title, or related fields are a plus.
