Chicago Jet Group seeks a Facilities Support Technician to join our Maintenance Team. This position will be located at the Aurora Airport (KARR) in Sugar Grove, IL. This is a Part Time position.
Overview
The Facilities Support Technician supports both indoor and outdoor facility operations within an FAA Part 145 repair station. This role ensures the hangar, ramp, and surrounding property are safe, clean, and fully operational. Responsibilities include facility upkeep, snow and ice removal, company vehicle coordination, and operation of ground support equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain hangar and facility cleanliness (floors, workspaces, offices, restrooms, and common areas)
- Perform routine facility inspections and report maintenance or safety issues
- Conduct outdoor facility upkeep
- Snow and ice removal (shoveling, salting, de-icing)
- Operating snow removal equipment, including plow trucks (if authorized)
- General groundskeeping as required (debris removal, basic upkeep)
- Operate ground support equipment (GSE) such as aircraft tugs for positioning (as trained and authorized)
- Assist with aircraft movement support (non-maintenance role), including safe positioning within hangars
- Manage company vehicles
- Transporting vehicles for scheduled maintenance and repairs
- Performing basic checks (fuel level, cleanliness, general condition)
- Support basic facility maintenance tasks, such as light bulb replacement and minor non-technical repairs
- Ensure effective FOD (Foreign Object Debris) control across hangar and ramp areas
- Handle waste disposal and recycling in accordance with environmental and company standards
- Maintain organization of tools, equipment, and storage areas
- Restock facility and safety supplies (cleaning materials, PPE, etc.)
- Follow all FAA Part 145, OSHA, and company safety procedures
- Assist with special projects, facility improvements, and operational support tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in facilities, groundskeeping, ramp operations, or industrial environments preferred
- Valid driver’s license required; ability to operate trucks and facility vehicles
- Experience operating snow removal equipment or plow trucks preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude is a plus
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong safety awareness, especially around moving equipment and aircraft
- Ability to operate or learn operation of GSE and facility vehicles

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Dependable and adaptable to changing weather and operational needs
- Physical capability to perform outdoor labor in varying weather conditions
Work Environment:
- Combination of indoor hangar and outdoor ramp/grounds work
- Regular exposure to:
- Cold weather, snow, and ice
- Noise, fumes, and moving equipment
- Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, bending, and working in inclement weather
May require flexible hours, early mornings, weekends, and holidays (especially during winter operations)
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
