What are the responsibilities and job description for the ACCOUNTS PAYABLE position at Cheyenne Village?
OVERVIEW:
Maintain accounts payable system and personal needs trust accounts. Assists Accountant in other accounting functions as necessary.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Reviews invoices and purchase requests for proper authorizations. Codes transactions to appropriate general ledger accounts, enter into accounting software, issue checks, obtain proper signatures and file in accounts payable files.
- Issue checks from Personal Needs Trust account (PNT) to individuals receiving services for personal spending. Issue checks for payments as requested. Responsible for receipting and posting all deposits made into PNT.
- Prepare monthly reports of PNT transactions and distribute to appropriate staff.
- Prepare recurring monthly checks (host home payments, rents, mileage reimbursements etc.).
- Close accounts payable module monthly into general ledger and reconcile balance with actual invoices.
- Prepare all bank deposits. Determine proper account to deposit funds, and maintain monthly deposit spreadsheet.
- Maintain petty cash records for all departments and manages business department petty cash.
- Reconciles receipts to vendor statements.
- This is not a remote position.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Must be able to operate a motor vehicle as part of your job duties as assigned. Most Cheyenne Village jobs require driving as part of their daily job duties. This requires maintaining a driving record acceptable to the State of Colorado, Cheyenne Village, Inc., and its insurance carrier’s requirements.
Recommended to have current First Aid and CPR, but not required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normal office environment. This position does not offer remote work.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Works in a standard on-site business office environment.

PAY TYPE: Hourly
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:
Associate or Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration is recommended but not required. Experience in Accounts Payable, Minimum two years experience in bookkeeping, accounting or finance preferred. Knowledge of office equipment, general accounting practices knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, e-mail and other accounting software. Criminal and driving checks acceptable with State of Colorado, insurance carrier and Cheyenne Village, Inc. requirements. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for this position.
