Company Description Chesterfield Montessori School (CMS) has been educating children from 14 months through sixth grade since 1981 through hands-on, experiential, and evidence-based learning. Role Description We have one full time and one part time, on site Extended Care positon available starting in mid-August. These roles support Montessori classroom teachers by helping maintain a calm, orderly, and nurturing environment during nap (full time) and extended care (both full and part time positions). Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising children during rest time, assisting with transitions between classroom and extended care, and supporting age-appropriate activities that encourage independence and respect. The assistant helps with classroom preparation, tidying shared spaces, and ensuring safety and well-being in indoor and outdoor environments. This role also involves clear communication with lead teachers and staff, following school policies, and modeling positive, respectful interactions with all children.
Pay: $17.00 to $17.50 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Assistant Teaching and Education, with an interest in Montessori philosophy or child-centered learning approaches.
- Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, including clear, respectful interaction with children, families, and colleagues.
- Candidates should possess skills in Working With Children and Childcare, including supervising groups safely and supporting social-emotional development.
- Reliability, patience, and the ability to maintain a calm presence in a busy environment.
- Experience in a school, early childhood program, or similar setting is preferred.
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the role, such as standing, bending, and participating in indoor and outdoor activities.
- High school diploma required; additional coursework or credentials in education or child development are a plus.
- Capacity to pass any required background checks and comply with school health and safety policies.
